Launch checklist
"Published" in a dashboard does not mean live. Live means a first-time customer can walk from the public page all the way to payment. We run this entire list for every site and every product before calling it launched — steal it and use it as-is. Each item states its pass criterion: if you cannot say the criterion out loud with evidence, the item is not checked.
Full customer path
- ☐ Public page opens logged-out in an incognito window, no redirect errors or certificate warnings. — Pass: the page renders fully on the exact URL you will share.
- ☐ Every button and link on the page has been clicked once; no dead links, no wrong destinations. — Pass: a click-through log with zero surprises.
- ☐ The product can be added to cart and taken to checkout, price matching the listed price. — Pass: cart total equals the product page price, no silent changes.
- ☐ Shipping/tax options that should exist actually exist; no cost appears for the first time at the final step. — Pass: the buyer can state the full final price before paying.
- ☐ Payment methods are really in place (PayPal / card) and reachable up to the final confirm step. — Pass: you personally reached the payment confirmation screen.
- ☐ The whole path repeated on a phone: no horizontal scrolling, buttons tappable, no cut-off text. — Pass: the mobile walk ends at the same payment screen as desktop.
Content & trust
- ☐ Every number on the page (price, fee, spec) traces to a source; nothing was written from memory. — Pass: for any figure, you can name where it came from and when you checked it.
- ☐ No invented sales figures, reviews or user stories; previews are labeled previews, not presented as live products. — Pass: deleting every claim you cannot evidence leaves the page standing.
- ☐ Affiliate links carry a disclosure note and point at the correct dedicated URL. — Pass: the disclosure sits next to the link and the href matches the intended address character for character.
- ☐ Contact routes genuinely work: the inbox receives mail, the form submits. — Pass: a test message you sent arrived and is readable.
SEO basics (do them once, do them right)
- ☐ Every page's canonical is the final URL form, one consistent style sitewide (no .html/slash mixing). — Pass: canonical, sitemap entry and the address bar all show the identical URL.
- ☐ Every page has JSON-LD structured data; titles and descriptions are unique across the site. — Pass: a sitewide list of titles contains no duplicates.
- ☐ sitemap.xml contains every page; robots.txt points to the sitemap. — Pass: sitemap URL count equals your public page count.
- ☐ OG tags complete; social shares preview correctly. — Pass: a pasted link renders title, description and the right URL in a share preview.
This site's pages were accepted on exactly this list: screenshot review of every page, then a visitor walk — home → tool/service links → the NordVPN button and its disclosure → the contact CTA. Any failed step means not launched, full stop.
